TO THE EDITOR. ' C: ir, — ln reply tb letter m your issue of Tuesday last, signed " tublic Libraries .-\ct, 1579." I beg to state that the cottage therein referred to is not now the property of the NgaruawaJiia Library, but of tho W. S. Is. Company, who some time ago very magnanimously extricated tho Library Committee from the oppressive bank liabilities existing therein. ; ."-'ince said cottage became the property qf the W. S N. *. ompany, one of their employees has been its occupant until recently, when by some local influence the tenant -felt constrained to vacate tho company's cottage and rent one belonging to the company's local manager. No it is not the library which is losing the revenue, but the much managed W. S. N. Company. Where does the revenue go ? — I am, &c, Public Libraries Act, 1879, Schedule No. 1.
