Beferring- to the pmchase of the Waikato Tidies by Mr Edgcumbe, the Evening Star says:—"The Waikato Times has beeu recently bought by Jfl. LVI. Edgcumbe, Esq. This gentlemen who is well known m literary circles was for a considerable time proprietor of the Bay of Plenty Times, He made a visit to the old country, and on his return here has purchased the "Waikato Times. In tho hands of a gentleman of so much experience and talent our contemporary will no doubt make rapid progress and will be a success to its proprietor, and an inestimable boon to the public of the Waikato .district. Mr Edgcurabe, upon leaving Tauranga, was presented with a very complimentary testimonial and takes with him to, his new sphere the' good wishes of a large circle of friends.

The Horticultural Society have resolved to hold a show m March.
