After discussing the matter, the Board agreed to close these roads, together with a road on the Marsh-Meadows estate (Captain Rundown's) and the • Engineer was instructed to prepare the necessary

When thoy are . completed, the Secretary wag directed to publicly notify and do all things required by the Public Works Act, 1876, to carry out the wishes of Messrs S war brick and Runciman and at .their expense. He stated that he bad given land for a road two chains wide m exchange for the old road one chain wide, and being under tho impression that the arrangement had been duly carried out by the board, he had sold two small lots on the old road, and now found he was unable to give a title. . As nore of tbe Trustees had a

knowledge of the transaction, and Mr Lovell being unable to give the date, it was resolved t/, defer the consideration of it till uext meeting, m the interim Mr Lovell to furnish tbe Secretary with any particulars h_ may be able to obtain likely to facilitate a search among the records of the board. The Secretary was instructed to bring the matter before the County Council, at its next meeting, on the 19th inst. Thia included the business.
