HAMILTON POLICE COURT

Hamilton' 3rd December. (Before H. W.- Northcroft/ Esq., R.M.) Rahana (a native), pleaded guilty to being drunk when in charge of a horse on ,the public street, in the Borough of Hamilton. In reply to the Court, Sergeant McGovern said the prisoner was boisterous, and would not go home with his native friends; he would persist in riding his horse, although ■he rolled off several times. His Worship remarked that natives must be made to conduct themselves when they come into the settlements, as well as Europeans. Fined 20s and costs, in default, fourteen days' imprisonment with hard labor.
