CRICKET.
A cbicket match was played at Cambridge on Saturday last between the Cambridge Cricket Club and members of the A.C. Force. The Cambridge Club team was rather a weak one, many of the first eleven not being able to play. They were captained by Mackintosh. The fielding was rather leo.se m their first innjngs,(and neither A. 3. Stubbing or Mackintosh seemed, m their usual good form m the
bowling. Tho A.C. Team, however, had been, practising two or three times a day, between their hours of work, and thoir batting was very fair and steady. In the first innings they made the big score of 10 », playing with great luck, and obtaining many smart runs for short hits. M. and F. Stubbing and Glare did most effectual work m the field. The others did not seem m their usual form. In thoir first innings the CO. Club made 71. The A .0. had clearly the advantage m going m first as tho ground was wet and was soon cut up. In tho second innings, tho constables made 63, with three wickets to fall, but the match could not be played out and the stumps were drawn at 6.30. The bowlers for the constables were, Kilkenny, M artin and Copeland. The last acted also, as captain. Fitzpatrick made a very smart wiokeb keeper. Tha scores are as following:— A.C.
