"Waikato Times Office, Friday Evening. AUCKLAND CATTLE MARKET. Mr. A. BUOKIiAND'S weekly bepobt. At tho Haymarket, on Friday, November 7, fodder brought from 2s to 3s the cwt; oats, 2s 9d to 3s; barley, '2s Gd the bushel: buggies, £24 to £53 each. Horse stock were offered in full numbers, but comparatively .few were sold, and prices wero considerably lower. Young, good farm horses brought from £l7 to £24 each. There was the usual supply at the sale of hides and skins on Tuesday. Hides were sligqtly lower; thoy realised from 2.fd to 3{d tho lb. Skins and wool were better worth. Skins brought from Is lOd to 3s 6d each; good wool, In bags, 5d to s§d tho lb. At Komuora, on Thursday, dairy cattle were in limited number and demand. Heifers forward in calf sold freely, between £5 10a and. £7 oach. Store cattle in usual supply, about 100 head sold; prices, particularly for young cattle, were -well sustained. Eat cattle in full number, 150 head yarded, generally of good quality and many of unusual largo size, last week's values from 28s to 32s tho lOOlbs. were sustained throughout tho sale. Tho prize oxou of Mossrs Reynolds brought respectively £22 10s, £2O 10e, £2O, and £17155; those of Mossrs Maclean were more equal in quality, and averaged £l6 16s. 31 flteors, E. Bent, £lO 4s; 16 head, J. S. Graham, £9 lis; 11 steers, Awitu, £ll 2s 6d; 10 steers, R. J. Taylor, £9b ss; 10 steers, E\ Constable, £10; 6 head, A. Stewart, £9 lis; G oxen, W. I. Taylor, £l2 16s. Eat calves wero numerous and in steady demand, varying from 28s to 57s Gd each, bheop were in moderate number only, and without alteration in value. Eat lambs numerous, but in brisk inquiry, and higher than last week Is per head. MESSES HUNTBB AND NOLAN'S WEEKLY BEPOBT. j Horsos.—The supply has been good, but' doniand rather slack, consequently sales havo been difficult to effect. There were a largo number of entries for disposal by auotion, at the Durham Yards, on Eriday; bidding was steady, and, with very few exceptions, lots were cleared. Light harness horses wore keenly competed for, and fully 50 each advance on last week's prices was given, while for other descriptions there was no noteworthy alteration ii value. , , , i- j Cattle.—The market has continued stirring, and prices have been sustained. Last week's rjites were fully maintained at bath sales, and in faet, for somo pons of stores, there was an upward tendency, as also for good dairy cows at their profit. We quote: Daily cows, from £7 15s to £ll 10s; calves, from £2 6s to £3 17s Gd; 18 months old steers, £4 5s to £4 17s 0d; two-year-old steers, £5 to £o 15s; grown steers, from £6 to £,B 15s; beef, '2Bs to Sheep.—The Newmarket Yards woro well filled on Tuesday, and thero an improved domand, consequently prices advanced from Gd to Is each; lambs -vere plentiful, and sold at from Gs to 13s 3d.
