Chancellor led into the straight, Templeton being next, with Maritana alongside. Next came Numa, having outside place. Laertes and Pinfire wero together m the rear. Passing tho stand, Chancellor led, Templeton being second, and Atlanta, third k Kay's two then closed up to Chanc llor, fourth place being taken by Atlanta. Opposite the stand the three leaders were close together, Numa fotiith, Atalanta fifth, Louglands sixth, and Maritana ahead of Chancellor before coming to the ford, the position of the others being unchanged. Miritana took a length's lend at die corner, and Terapleton closed m ou Chancellor. At the corner for tho straight Maritana still led, Longlandd and Atalaata being 1 ueaten. Watiie commenced to rido the mnre at the distance, and m the rails Wattie and Rucldings had a ran struggle for the honors. The former had his whip at work.
