THE OPENING OF PARLIAMENT.
SYDNE?, October 29. Parliament was opened to-day by the Governor, who, m his speech on the occasion, promised the incrodticof the following measures :—Amendment of; the lands, electoral, and education laws. He stated that proposals would be submitted to carry out the works for a water supply to, the metropolis, for further railway extension m the provinces, an-1 the extension of the suburban tramway.
