Four of the more moderate and more independent of the Auckland pha laux have gone over to the Govern-, menfc, having secured substantial guarantees for the redress of Auckland's wrongs. We may therefore soon expect to hear that the majority of tho other Auckland members now in opposition, in accordance with the strong feeling of their constituencies, will see the advisability of refraining from factious opposition, and no longer continue to sacrifice Auckland's interest to party spleen. The position which the Waikato Handbook has taken since Mr langbridge first commenced his canvas, as a standard guide and colonising agent for.the district which it is intended to illustrate, has induced him, and we think wisely, to eliminate the less serious matter which would have been found under tho title of " the social zoo," as shown by tho'circulars.

This; would ensure a truly Liberal Government and terminate the unfortunate deadlock.
