A despatch, dated the Bth, says the Affghans are strongly intrenched in a position commanding Cabul, while General Massey is so posted as to prevent retreat. Baker will attack in front. Later news from Capetown, s!.ates that Sir Garnet Wolsely formally announced the end of the war. «
