Mr Hall has taken little time to form a Ministry, though, as yet, one portfolio remains to be filled np. The list, at present, is as follows : — Mr Hall, Premier and Colonial Secretary ; Mr Whitaker, AttorneyGeneral, with a seat in the Council ; Major Atkinson, Treasurer and Customs ; Mr Rolleston, Lands, Immigration and Blucalion; Mr Oliver, Public Works ; Mr Bryce, Native Minister j Mr Tamaona, Native Member. The report that Messrs JF. A. Whitaker and Wakefield are to be ander-sen.retaries, with salaries of .£BOO per unrntn, is without foundation. The House met agtin yesterday, for the mere purpose of granting certain supplies needed by the late Government, and adjourned until Friday. Great changes have takea place during the course of yesterday. Certain members of the new Ministerial part}' are said to have gone over to the Opposition now that Sir George Grey bas beeu got rid of, but this statement requires confirmation. At any rate Mr. Macandrew, as the present leader of the Opposition, has given notice of his in f ention to bring forward a want-of-confidence motion. Whether Aucklaud members will allow themselves to be drigged at the chariot wheels ol Otago, after having first sacrificed the man they were all pledged to support, remains to be seen. To predicate the position wbich a dajr may bring forth at this distance from the seat of events is useless.
