CAMBRIDGE POLICE COURT.

Saturday, 4th October. (Before E. Wad I ington, M.D., J.P.) •Arthur Reuton, charged on the information bf Constable Breen m wi'h being drunk and incapable while m charge of a horse on the 3rd inst.,. contrary to section 100 of the Public Works Act, 1876, pleaded guilty and was fined £l and 12s costs, or 14 days' imprisonment. (Bn.fore Dr. Waddingfon, J.P., and Colonel W. y. Lyon, J.P.) Alfred Wilson, a c.rter, working for Messr... Thompson and Graham, was charged on lhe information of Constable Brennan that be did, oa the 3rd October, unlawfully assault the police m the due execution of their duty. 0 mstable W. Brennan, sworn, deposed : Last night 1 • arrested prisoner, wh<> was druuk and creating a slight disturbance. He threw himself down on the %v mud and swore I c would not go to tho lockup. I pursued him and caught hold of him, when he struck rae several blows on the face and body and pulled mv whisker., very hard. By the Bench : I have seen prisoner about town, anil frequently drunk, hut know of no convictions apiinst him. Fined £1 and 12s cosls, or six weeks' imprisonment with hard labour. Fine paid.
