October 1, 1879. The Waifcoa Highway District Board received tenders, as under, for the road works advertised : — W. The deepening of the mam drain is the greatest pai't of the work, so that although the tenders of some of the others are less than that of Mr Lovett, for small jobs, still the saving on the main draing greatly exceeds that. The filling m the approaches to the new "Waitoa bridge is well nigh completed. When the works now about to be undertaken are finished, we will have a passable road from Hamilton and Cambridge to the Thames River. — Correspondent.
