THE HAMILTON UNEMPLOYED.

I think the inhabitants of Hamilton have just cause of complaint that one man for the sake of courting a little popularity Avhich ho sadly needs, and that another • with the object of seedling a few catch votes amongst the working classes m the coming election for Mayor, should have dragged the Borough and district through the mire, »is they did at the meetiug of the so-called \uiemployed held on Saturday evening last at Hamilton East. We, m Hamilton, know that the first resolution passed at that meeting, and. for which but a few held up their Hands, though none liked to appear actively agaiust it, did not represent the truth. Of the ten men calling themselves unemployed, most of them were tit work up to tho date of calliug the meeting, and most of them could be seen again at work this morning, on the contract on tins side the river. But people at a distance dont know this, and tbe district will got discredit for being m a state of poverty that does not exist. These facts I have above stated, speak for themselves, a:id should bring a blush of shame to the face of those who, for whatever purpose they suggested and personally carried out this meeting-, did so knowing that they were giving currency to misrepresentations, to carry out thoir ends, and doing this at tho expense of the good name of the community; — I dfei, &c, Coxtjractob.
