Fat sheep wore in short supply, and at opening of sale, prices ruled higher than last week, but fell aa sale proceeded to previous mines, l£d for shorn, to 2|d for sheep in thin wool. Fat lambs offered in larger numbers than hitherto, but in demand ; best quality brought from 12s to los Gil ; inferior, from 4s each. Horses : On Friday, at tho Durham Yards, there was a good attendance oi buyers, and for draught stock competition was keen at from £12 to £ OS, a draught of horses from Taranaki, eliciting keen competition. For light horses,' bidding was slow, and no very high prices Avere obtained. Wo quote : Hacks, from £;) to £13 10s ; light harness horses, from £15 to £19 ss ; medium draughts, £32. Cattlo : There has teen a good doal of vitality in the market. Dairy cows have been in better demand than for some weeks and stores sold freely at quite last: week's prices. Beef fluctuated a, good deal in value. Coarse animals wore quitted at ■28s per lOOlbs. while for prime, 3').s Avas given. At Newmarket, on Tuesday, with 'the exception of stores, which are being held back for the fair on Monday next, thero was an. adequate supply, and good competition throughout. Sheep are being brought forward in excessive numbers, and are at low values, — Is 8d per 81bs being the top price for fat wethers. jEwes and lambs sold at 10s for ewes, lambs given in. Stores, mixed" sexos, nearly fat, sold at from 7s Gd to 11s. Lambs were in short supply, and sold at from Ss Gd to 10s.
