AFFAIRS IN BURMAH.
LONDON, September 13. News from Afghanistan states that the Ameer' 8 guards gradually deserted. Takoob Khan fell defending himself against the mutineers. The advanced posts of the British reached Shuter Garden on the Bth, and occupied tho road to Cabul through Karkacha Pass, which, it w%s said, -was defended by hostile tribes. The rebellion ha« extended to Herat. The bitterest animosity is manifested. Thebau is abandoned. All Burmese capable of bearing arms are summoned to Mandalay. The British, fearing a threatened general massacre, sought refuge across the British Burmah frontier, where Brown resided, and remain awaiting events.
