♦ Sib, — I have observed Mr McMinn's reference to your Correspondent's report, and his statement re the expenditure of public moneyin the Whatawhata district, is perfectly correct, and we, in Whatawhata, are also well aware that it was mainly through the exertion of our late member thaj; we received the money, but it was the North as against the South Island that Mr McMinn referred to in his speech, and not Whatawhata versus some other district. Whatever our late member's faults may be, neglecting the public works in his district has "certainly not been one of them, and I believe the majority of us are sorry that, in voting for the Government that granted us this money, we cannot vote for E. G. McMinn. — I am, &c, The Correspondent.
