HARAPEPE.
September 9fch. For the past two or three weeks we have been getti >g rather an overdose of politics ; although I do not think much time has been lost by the majority of the farmers m this district, as t'tey all have too much of their own work to do, and their ininds not being like that of the celebrated Luird of Oockpen, taken up with the things ot the State. Mr Roche came over, and had an audience of six. Mr Cunningham came also, but the public did not, so there was no meeting. On Saturday evening last, Mr McMinn held forth to a small audience, Mr Whitaker has not been over to see us, I fancy that the coming election will prove the trnth of the old proverb, " that it is dangerous to try to sit on two stools. The late rain has freshened up the pad-Jocks, and the gra?s is looking vej.'y green, and at present there is a prospect of an early spring. — . CORBKS]?ON©EN'J',
