MELBOURNE, Sept. 10. The Reform Bill continues to drag its blow length along. It is expected that the debate will close next week, and then the House will probably be adjourned for a week, to enable members to visit Sydney to witness the opening of the Exhibition. The Governors of the various colonies will be invited, and several will be present. The Government have submitted their financial measures to a caucus. Mr Berry, on Wednesday night, intimated to the House that the Stamp Duties would realise £70,000 per annum, or about £55,000 for the currency of the present year. He also generally indicated the nature of the remission, the 10 per cent duty on ironmongery, holloware, and oil will be given up, the duties on drugs will be surrendered, the soft goods Ust wiU be revised, and a reduction of £20,000 per annum effected. The duties on cornsacks will be abandoned, but the charge on jute goods m the piece and on woolpacks will be maintained. The tariff as originally proposed pleased no one. The sales of stud sheep this year were a long way under the average, but tbe sheep were the finest seen m Victoria. J 1 here were fewor buyers than usual, and ' prices were 40 per cent, below what was anticipated. . — m .
