•Sin,— The greater part of Mr Harp's letter of the 4th instant is- so absurd and unintelligible, that I think he must actually have had a hand iv writing it himself. I take notico of his letter simply f.»r the purpose of informing tho ratepayers of tho district, that there is no truth, whatever, m his statement thafc a Road Board case was lost m Court owing to my non-attendance, and the district saddled with the expense Mr Harp must be labouring under a state of insanity (I hope ifc is ouly temporary), or ho would not have had tho audacity of fabricating and foisting on"- the public such a sfcorv. I fear tho caso he lost m Court the other day, when ho was saddled with costs, &c, must bo praying on his mind.— l am, &c, Alexander Bbemjteb. September 6th, 1879.
