Waikato Timks Office, Friday Evening. AUCKLAND CATTLE MARKET. MR A. BUCKLAND' S WEEKLY REPOBT. At the Haymarket on Friday, August 22ud, horse stock was m moderate supply, and steady demand ; all brought forward being sold. Prices were: For medium draught, from £30 to £36 each; light harness, £9 to £10. There is good inquiry for youug draught stock, and a draft of fresh animals will sell well. On Tuesday hides were m steady demand, and brought from 2d to 3|d the lb ; skins from ls Id to 2s Id each. A small muster of grown cattle at Papakura were eagerly competed for, and good prices were obtained. At Remuera, this day, dairy cows brought from £7 to £9 lbs, with a dull inquiry? three-year-old steers of good quality, £6; four-year-old steers, £7 12s 6d each. Fat cattle m average number; 120 head yarded. Prices for best quality were better than last week, and steady at 30s tho 100 lbs, but inferior, fatted, and coarse animals, ranged from 24s and upwards. Store sheep were at low values — good longwoolled owes 10s and 10s 6d : wethers, from 8s to lis each. Fat sheep were m less number than last week, and at previous values, varying with qnality from 2£d to 2jd the lb. MESSRS HUNTER AND NOLAN'S WEEKLY REPORT. Horses. — The> market has continued fairly active. We quote hacks from £lo to £23 ; medium draught, £27 10s ; heavy draught, £43. . At Newmarket, on Tuesday, dairy cows were not well represented, and stores were iv short supply. There were an adequate number of fat beasts, and for a few pens sellers had to submit to a slight reduction, prices ranging from i. ! 6s to 30s per 100 lbs.
