Sir, — I cannot, as a Hamilton man, but compare thc Hon. Mr Whitaker's remarks, at the Panmure meeting, as published m your paper of to-day, with those of Mr J. P. Campbell, as delivered m LeQuesne's Hall, on Wednesday evening. Mr Whitaker clearly puts the action of the Government, m the mattor of the Thames- Waikato Railway, as a very good thing for the Premier's constituents, but a great injustice to tho people of Waikato. Mr Campbell is the apologist of the Grey Government. The Premier is infallible. The Thames- Waikato Railway Scandal, is no scandal at all, according to Mr Campbell, who quoted Dr Hodgkinson, from Hansard No. 8, to show that tho Government had acted m good "faith, aud were justified iv commencing the line at Grahamstown, instead of afc the Waikato river, at Hamilton, and who further stated that if elected* he would take no steps to enquire into the matter, leaving the past to take oare of itself. Now I ask Hamilton electors if this is the sort of representation they will be satisfied with. What is this but the blind following of a leader ?
