REWI'S MEETING.
(From our Own Correspondent.) (BY TELEGRAPH,) KIHIKIHI, last night. Rewi's meeting was largely attended to-day, Mr James Henderson m tbe chair.- He commenced by referring the Waitara affair, where himself and Sir George Grey planted a tree for the good of both races which Sir W. Fox and others are trying to uproot before its fruit came to maturity, tie denied that Sir George Grey went to the Kopua uieeling as was said on all fouis. It was he who invited him. He read copies of telegrams first addressed te the P.trliamenl, at Wellington, respecting Mr Fo_, and his opposition -to the Grey Governmonr, also, one to Mr Hamlin, wherein he deplores the conduct of the Opposition, m endeavouring to uproot the Waitara tr(-ie. Major j'-aefegon wished to ask a question, ..it the clase, h»t could not get a iie-iri-ig. Th.9 Chajviftpu stated, the meeting was not cilled fov asking question?. He would : declare the meeting terminated.
