FIUSER RELIEF FUND.

The following is the amount collected, froin various sources, for tae relief of the family of tlio late Sergt.-Major Eraser, of tbo Armed Constabulary, who occupied the position of drill instructor to the Waikato Volunteer Cavalry : —

A meeting of the subscribers to the above Fond, was held at (he Dnke of Cambridge Hotel on Friday evening, the Bth inst., at 7 o'clock p.m. Major Jackson (in the chair) representing- the Ta Awamutu Cavalry, Captain Ruucirnan and Lieutenant Johnson the Cambridge and Hamilton troops respectively, Sergt.-Major Heany the Armed Constabulary Force, and private sub. scribers were represented bv Messrs Campbell, Hally, and Tauner. After considerable discussion, it was decided to adjourn the meeting for half an hour, Captain Runciman and three other gentlemen being deputed to interview Mrs Fraser, and ascertain her wishes with regard to the Fund. On the meeting reassembling, Captain Runcinian stated that Mrs Fraser was very unwell, and confined to her bed. She had recently received letters from her relatives in Adelaide, and wished to join them. It was unanimously agreed that the money could not be spent in a better way than providing the family with, the means of joining their relatives, and handing any surplus over for their benefit on arrival ; but, in the meantime, Mrs Fraser to have proper medical care and attention. Captain Hunciman, Sergt.-Major Heany, and Sergeant Scott were appointed a committee to carry the above arrangement out, and a full account of the expenditure will appear in the " Waikato Times n iu due course, *
