There is no House until tomorrow, when Sir George Grey will make a short Financial Statement, and ask for temporary supplies, REPORTED RESIGNATION OF COL. WHITMORE, AND MESSRS MaXIANDREW AND THOMPSON. It was freely stated in the lobbies of the Government Buildings this morning, that Colonel Whitmore, and Messrs Macandrew and Thomson had resigned their seats in the Ministry, for the reason thsfc they oonld no longer agree with the Premier. The report spread with great rapidity, and caused considerable sensation. It was asserted by the Government party, however, that the rumour was a mere canard, though it was circulated by a member of the Legislature, who asserted that he was informed by one of the Ministers concerned. It is to be moved by Mr Murray tomorrow, " That in the opinion of this House, the seats of Members accepting seats in the Ministry, during the Parliamentary recess, should become vacant, and that such Membors should become disqualified from sitting or voting in the House, until re-elected." Mr Ballance contests Wanganui against Sir W. Fox.
