TOWN OF KIHIKIHI HIGHWAY DISTRICT.

Kniriaui, July 29, 1870. The Annual Meeting- of Ratepapers of the above district was heßin the Schoolroom, on Monday evening last. Mr Thomas Anderson was elected to the Chair, aud thb following Statement of Accounts waa read, viz :

The following" Katepayers were proposed, seconded, and duly elected Trustees for the current year, viz : Major Wm. Jackson, Messrs Henry Moncrieff, T. Farrcll, J. Anderson, and W. Qualtrough. Auditors ; Messrs A. Kay and L. Baliin. Fence Viewers : W. Corboy and J. L. Tristram. Mr Andrew Kay, who attended the meeting, in the capacity of Auditor, said, that he took tho opportunity of having so many of the settlers present, (o bring to their notice the necessity of having the Cemetery Reserve, some six acres, laid down in grass, planted with suitable trees, fenced, and otherwise ornamented. He, himself, would do the ploughing, and find the grassseed, if the settlers would do the clearing, and assist generally in so laudable a work.
