Sib,— Could you inform bo why the vestrymen chose to privately invite tenders for the painting, &c of the the above premises in place of doing so by " open tender,'' What system of trado prof crenoo is there in Hamilton to merit such partiality? Is it the spirit of charity exemplified, or is it that one in tho trade is nofc invited to tender, lest, if he got the
