AUCKLAND CATTLE MARKET.

On Friday last fodder was abundant, and ranged with quality from 2a 6d to o.s 6d the cwt. ; muizo, from 3.s 6d to
4s 2d ; oats, 3s Id the bushel ; guano, £4 10s to £5 the ton. Horses were offered m large number, and for good stock high prices were sustained. Draught colts brought from £14 to £19; medium draught, broken to harness, from £20 to £28; heavy draught, from £30 to £51; the bay entire " Younjr Northorn Hero," £60. On Tuesday, hides wore at lower values and ranged from lfd to 3d per lb. Sheepskins m demand at late values, and brought from Is 3d to 2s 9d each. Tallow m fuller supply than usual, and brought from 22s to 26s the cwt. At Druiy, on Wednesday, store cattle ■were m loss number than usual, but all descriptions were m brisk' demand at an advance on late values.
At Remueivi, on Thursday, dairy cows were of medium quality only, and slow of sale. Store cattle wore m larger numbers than average, and m good demand at late quotations. Fat cattle m good supply; 140 head of better than average quality yarded. A few not well fatted were bought by the graziers, but well fatted cattle maintained last week's values, — from 26s for ship -homo to, 28s for Auckland fatted stock. Fat sheep were numerous, but not of prime quality, and slightly higher m values. Pigs scarce and better worth. Store sheep at nominal values.

Horses. — Thero has scarcely been any noteworthy alteration m tho market ; not quite the usual numher were entered for disposal by auction. Bidding was slow, and a few of the lots remained unsold. There remains an unsatisfied demand for upstanding young geldings, aud good plough mares are saleable. "We quote hacks from £0 to £14 10s ; light-harness horses from £15 to £22 ; draught horses, £30 to £43.
Cattle.— The supply has been good, and the demand steady ; but returns for dairy aud store stock have been more satisfactory than for f. at beasts. On Tuesday, at the Ha.yma.rket, an average number were yarded, and competition was good throughout the sale. We quote : Dairy cows, from £8 10s to £11 15s; dry cows, from £4 to £6 17s 6d ; calves, from 35s to 57a Gd; yearlings, from £2 15s to £3 12s 6d ; two-year-old steers, from £1 5s to £5 7s 6d ; threo-ycar-old steers, from £5 5s to £6 10s ; beef, from 24s to 30s per lOOlbs.
Sheep were m but moderate supply. The demand was steady for fat sheep, at Is 8d per 81bs.
