MESSES HUNTER AND NOLAN'S W BBKLY

EBPORT,

Horses. — Dulness has characterised the market. A tolerably large number have offered, but the demand -was not brisk. At the Durham Yards, Oil Friday, the number entered was scarcely up to the average, but found purchasers at about the previous week's values. We quote : Hacks, from £5 10s to £14 17s 6d ; light harness horses from £15 to £22 10s; medium draught, £38.

Cattlb. — There has been continuous activity m the market. The supply has scarcely been commensurate to the demand, and prices havo generally ruled m favour of tho vendor ; the most noticable exception being insufficiently fatted animals intended for the butcher. At Newmarket there was but a moderate number of stock yarded. Dairy and store stocks f idly maintained their value, and fat beasts receded a little. At Papakura, on Wednesday, there was a large muster, considering the state of the country roads. There was a good attendance of buyers, and sellers were much pleased at results of sale. We quote : Calves, from 35s to £2 15s ; yearlings, £3 to £3 17s 6d ; two-year-old steers, £4 to £5 10s; three-year-old, £5 5s to £6 17s 6d; dry cows, £4 to £6 15s; beef, 27s 6d to 30a per lOOlbs.

Shee. — The supply has: been small, and demand steady. Prices had a slightly upward tendency.
