Cambridge, 25th June.

(Before H. W. Northcrof fc, Esq., R.M.) Te Reihana Whakatoi was charged with stealing a pair of trousers from the store of Mr A, Isaacs, valued afc 16s 6d.

Constable Brennan stated the facts, of the case. The Magistrate said he would m future commit prisoners found guilty of theft to prison without the option of a fine.

Herekau Maungapohutu was charged with stealing six tins' of salmon from Mr Walker, National Hotel. Mr Whitaker for prisoner, pleaded guilty. Fined, £1 4s, and costs, £1 9s. CIVIL CASES. Judgment debt, Reid v, Raihi (Rice), claim £14 5s Bd, Defendant ordered to pay amount on 2nd July. Craig v. \Pohoe Te Waitangi. Claim £S 13s — dishonored order.' Adjourned till 11th July. Craig v. Karanama Te Waitangi and Ngahnae Te Waitangi. Money lent, £14 2s 6d. No appearance of defendant. Judgment for plaintiff for amount and costs, £2 17. Craig v. Te Haha .Koto, claim for money lent, £12. Judgment for plaintiffs and costs, £2 17s. Craig v.Peta Potua, claim for money lent, £16. Adjourned till July 11.
