THE TAYLOR FAMILY.

This company, which makes its first appearance in Waikato at the Queen's Hall, Hamilton, to-morrow night is well spoken of in the Auckland Press. They were playing early in the month at the Lome-street Hall, and the 'Herald' of tho9thinst. thus alludes to their performance:—" This conoert, comedy, and burlesque troupe, who have been, billei^

- ■ '* ' ■ " !■ WI.U.'IM ■! II ■■■ I" -» for some time in Auokland, mads a firs* appearance at the Lorno-street Hall on Saturday night, in a vory agreeable entertainment. The opening- piece, a farce entitled 'On Bread and Water,' introduced the principal members 0 f the troupe, and it is evident that the draw of the show is the child actress, Mattie, who is certainly clever and precocious, and an exquisite vein of humour pervades her impersonations. Mr find Mrs Taylor are the other members of the company. «Kitohea Operas,' which followed the first piece, introduced the family in a fresh set of characters, in which they acquitted themselves well, and then Mattie appeared ia character changes and songs, as ths 'Dashing Belle,' 'My Love is a Policeman, and 'l'm Seventy-one To-day.' She displayed a great deal of humour and vivacity; and was heartily applauded. As the ' Little Orphan' she also made a hit, shewing considerable power of pathoa as well as high comedy powers, The entertainment is, as a whole, good, and sufficiently consecutive to carry the audience with it. Mr Taylor's performance on the two banjos was, to say the least, remarkable, and was londly applauded." J y
