! Tuesday. Ox Friday last, the Native Assessor, Mohi Tawhai, received intelligence that some members of his family were dangerously ill. Ho left for home immediately, and the Court, m consequence, Avas adjourned till Tuesday, and another assessor was telegraphed for, from the Bay of Islands. Business cannot be resumed till he arrives, which can hardly be till/nearly the end of the week. Sergeant Chitty has received orders to proceed, to Wellington, f6r which place he left on Tuesday. He has been stationed m Cambridge for many years, and has always been much respected and. liked, on account of his general courtesy, and unostentatious and faithful discharge of i his duties. Great regret is expressed at
his departure. His family will not accompany him at present. It is stated that the proprietorship of the National Hotel, Cambridge, is about tb change hands. Mr Robert, Kirkwood, it is rumoured, will take the business from Mr AVm. Walker, who wishes for a change. — Own Correspondent.
