Wednesday, June 11. (Before H. W. Northcroft, Esq., R.M.) Richardson v. G. Kelly. Claim, £3 17s 6d. Ordered to pay £1 per month, or m default two months imprisonment. Harrison v. Peek. Claim, £11 12s. No appearance of either parties, case struck out. George Frederick Recce was charged with being of unsound mind, and was remanded to Hamilton. Ifc appears the poor fellow has been wandering about for some days, but doing no harm, -"/as not interfered with, on Monday evening, hewever, he went to Mr Garland's house, on the Hamilton road, and stayed there for some time, he left about 9 p.m., and Mr Garland accompanied him part of the way home* About two hours later he returned, and i offered to buy one of Mr Garland's horses, as he said he wanted to go to the Hot Springs, but not being succef sful m his wished for speculation he left for home again. On Mr Garland's goingout the next morning he was surprised to find his stable broken open and a valuable horse belonging to Sergt. Scott missing, he immediatily saddled another harse, and started to give information to the police m Cambridge, but just opposite Mr Fantham's he found Ihe missing horse with saddle on over the clothing, which was torn very much. Constable Brennan received notice of the ocenrence and. started out m search of Recce, whom," however, he missed on the road and did not discover till Wednesday morning early. On his way to the cells Recce seized a large tent-pole and struck the constable a severe blow on the side of the head, the effects of which he felt for some time. On appearing m Court he behaved m a quiet orderly manner.
