COMMERCIALWaikato Times Office, Friday Evening. AUCKLAND CATTLE MARKET. MB. A. BUOKLAND'S WEEKLY BEPOBT. At the Haymarkefc, on Friday last, fodder was plentiful, and brought from 3s to 4s 9d the cwt. ; oats, 3s to 3s 9d ; maize, 4s 3d the bushel ; chaff, 5s the cwt. ; Mexican guano, £i os to £4 10s the ton. The horse market was unusually animated, there being a large number of good young horses of all classes sold unreservedly. There was a large attendance, and satisfactory prices ruled throughout. Heavy-draught three-year-olds brought from £39 to £56 ; mediumdraught, £24 to £30 10s; light-harness and strong riding horses, £17 to £24 each. At the sale of hides, prices were lower than last week, 3d the lb being the highest price. Sheepskins and wool have risen slightly with the improved tone m the English market. At Remuera, on Thursday, store cattle were m limited numbers, but steady demand at late values. Fat cattle m less than average number — 112 head were yarded; at first 30s for best quality was given, but prices fell as the sale proceeded, and 28s was the highest price obtained for the greater portion of cattle' offered, inferior from 26s the lOOlbs. Fat sheep were penned m considerable number — about 800 — yarded, at just last week's values ; 2£d the lb for wethers ruled, but a steady advance was obtained as the sale proceeded, and some few pens reached 3£d, and prices then foil to 3d, at which the market closed. Pigs of good quality were plentiful, and prices lower than at any time this season, and ranged from 2d to 2jd the lb., live weight. MESSES HUNTER AND NOLAN' S WEEKLY BEFOBT. Horses. — There has been continued activity m the market. There has been a good supply, and a good number of sales were effected at auction. Above an average number were entered for disposal. Bidding was spirited throughout, and almost without exception were disposed of at satisfactory prices; last week's rates were .maintained, and good riding horses advanced to £27 10s. Cattle. — Quite an average number have been brought forward, and a steady demand has existed for all descriptions. At Newmarket, on Tuesday, there was a fair supply of dairy and store stock, and a large number of fat beasts were yarded. There was good competition throughout the sale, and last week's prices were fully sustained. At Papakura, owing 1 to the bridges being carried away, the muster was not so large as usual, but prices were a shade higher than at. the central market. Sheep.— The Newmarket Yards were well filled. There was good demand throughout the sale, and prices advanced 2s per head, as compared with the previous week. '
