THE HAMILTON CATTLE SHOW ?

Sib, — I think it is to be regretted mttVJv, that the Cambridge Farmers' Club has decided to hold their next show at Cambridge, instead of Hamilton, and I cannot regard the decision of the C. F. O. m any other light than a mistake ; for, apart from the , broad and generous policy, so ably advocated by Messrs Walker, Runciman and others, it is altogether veid of consideration for those members of the C. F. C. who are not by any means Cambridge people, but Hamilton, Piako and other people, who should not he forgotten by the Cambridge section of the community. What is now left for the Hamilton folk is, to establish a Farmers' Club of their own, and have their show independent of the C. F. C. By all manner of means, let Cambridge have its Farmers' Club and show, but m the same way let Hamilton or any other centre have its club and show, also, if the people desire such. The idea of cementing the whole Waikato is a generous and noble one, but these townships being like so many men, with minds of their own, who feel and wish to be separte m thought and action, destroys the shadow of a chance of cementing the whole Waikato, and the sooner the idea is abandoned, the better. There is nothing much to prevent Hamilton from holding a " Champion Show," annually ; and, if the idea be followed out with energy, now, it will prove a great success.— Cattle Owner.
