THE AUCKLAND STUD COMPANY.

Within 1 the last few days a company has been formed under the title of the "Auckland Stud Company." Their object is to breed for annual sale the most fashionable and esteemed thoroughbreds and draught stock. They have purchased from Messrs Maclean & Co., and Major Walmsley, the whole of their thoroughbred stock, including the celebrated stallion Musket, for which the large sum of £2,500 was offered by an Australian breeder. They have also purchased from Messrs T. and S. Morrin the whole of their draught stock, including the imported Clydesdale entire Elgin (which cost landed m Auckland £ 1 000.) Elgin was purchased by Mr John Hunter, the well-known judge of Clydesdales both m Scotland and England, who received a carte blanche to buy the .best Clydasdale entire procurable ; and the imported draught sire Prince Arthur, whose 'stock is not to be excelled m New Zealand, together with some high class Mares, two years old, yearlings and foals. The Company have secured the Glen Orchard estate, and arrangements have been made with Mr Richard Taylor to graze any stock they may require upon his valuable property adjoining. Major Walmsley has been appointed resident managing director. — 'Herald.'
