COURT HOUSE FOR CAMBRIDGE.
The Minister of Justice yesterday was interviewed by a deputation consisting of Messrs. R. Kirkwood, Wells, (Chairman, T. B.), and Hewett, and aftor Borne conversation adjourned to inspect the Post Office and Courthouse. The former, as '. is well known, is quite unsuited to the •requirements of the district. The accommodation is so limited that if three or four persons wish to .transact business jit the some time a rejyu- .',
lar crush ensues. The building ltselt, moreover, is anything but a credit to tbe architect, looking more like a shed tuan a Government building. Mr blieehan promised to add to and improve this- at once. The party next inspected tne Court House and it was at once pronounced (as it is) quite unfit for tho business of the place. A new ono is to be erected on some site in the centre of the township. It is well that the Government should bear in mind when approving of the plans of the building, that the place is growing, aud not again commit the Post Office mistake, but provide a useful and ornamental structure, suitable to the growing requirements of the place.
