The Exhibition Commissioners have received the following from Sydney regarding the wool exhibits : " That under the head of champion prizes, a gold medal shall be awarded for the best exhibits m sub-classes 1 to 24, inclusive ; also a gold or silver medal should be, at the discretion of the judges, awarded to to the most valuable exhibition m subclasses 33 to 36, inclusive. 3. That the meaning of the definition '. best,' as applied to sub-classes 1 to 24, inclusive, should be wholly left to the determination of the judges, with the view that the grand prize be given m the same class which possesses the same excellence. 3 That the meaning of the word ' strong,' as used m describing the merino combing wools m division B, should apply to those which are cf a stouter or thicker fibre than those usually classed as ' fine.' It is fully recognised by the committee that all wools' must be fit for 'combing.' 4. Although it is admitted that difficulties may arise m determining which exhibit should at the International Show obtain the champion prize, yet the committee think that with a mixed court of wool exports and growers of high class wools, a satisfactory award may be decreed, as was done at the Paris Exhibition. — Commissioners' Offices, 153, Macquarie-sfcreet, Sydney, 24th April, 1879."
