Best quality steers sold steadily at 30s, but cows and medium quality steers wore from' 25.4^0 27s the lOOlbs. Store sheepat low values. Ewes from 3s to 6s each. We quote saddlo hor-es' from £9 ; 10s to. £9.2 ; light harness* £11 10s to £19 ; < medium draught, £32 10s. , Cattle.— Ou Tuesday, at Newmarket, the yards were \well filled. Dairy cows, at their profit, were without alteration in value. Really well-bred stores in fresh, condition were a shade higher in price, while superior stock wero relatively lower. There was a lai-ge market of fat beasts Top sorts barely reached tho previous week's prices, and inferior receded from | 2s 6d to 5s per lOOlbs. We quote dairy cows from £9 to £11 15s; dairy cows from £3 17s Gd to £5 10s ; three-year-old steers from ,£6 to £8 2s 6d ; two-year-olds, from £5 to £6,105; yearlings, from £3 17s 6d to £4 ; two-year-old heifers, £3 1.7s Gd to £5 ss; calves, 27d 6d ts> 60s; beef, 28s to 32s Gd per lOOlbs. ' Sheep.— Have been brought forward in large number, and have found ready purchasers at last week's values. The Newmarket yards were well filled en Tuesday ; competition was good throughout. Best wethers sold at from 17s Od to 21st ; light- j weights, 16s; ewes, from l'Oa 6d to 15s. Lambs were scarce, and sold at from 10s ' tolls.
