A SPORTING QUESTION.
(To the Editor of the Waikato Times.) Sib, -. Will you kindly insert the following answer, received by a friend of mine, re two-year-olds being allowed to run m a mile anda-half race : —" Sydney, March 13,1879.—Under A.J.C. Rules, no two-year-old can run m any race the distance of which shall exceed one mile and aquarter, and, ad the v .R.C. Rules d 6 not provide weights m weight-for-age races over one and a-quarter miles for two-year-olds, I take it they have tho same meaning, but with regard to handicaps I do not know the V.R.i!. Rules; ours are explicit.—Yours, &c, P. Cmpbobn, Sec,' A.J.C.-Note: Under the V^nd Rule of the V.J.0., I ta.-e it. Mr Handley is right. —P.C." I think this answer, together with Captain Standish's, ought to decide the matter. —l am, &c, H. E. Handley.
