AUCKLAND CATTLE MARKET.
MR. A. BUOKLAND'S WEEKLY REPORT. At the Haymarket, on Friday last, fodder brought from 3s to 5s Bel the cwt. Above 200 sacks ryegrasa varied m price with quality, from 3a 6dato 6s 6d the bushel; 300 sacks oats, 3s to 3s 2d; maize, 3s lid the bushel. Horse stock were generally of a light description, and brought, for medium draught, £15 to £20 10s; riding horses, M to JGIO each. At Remuera, on Thursday, dairy cattle near calving were m good request; choice animals, from £9 to £13 each; fresh conditioned store cattle, m good demand; dry cows, £5 to £6 ; three-year-old steers, £8 7s 6d each; coarse and thin cattle at low values; three-year-old steers, £3 to £5 each. Fat cattle m moderate number, 110 head yarded, but of uniform good quality; prices steady throughout the sale at 30s the lOOlbs. Store sheep numerous, and at low values; ewes, from 2s 6d to 3s 6d; lambs, 2s 6d to 4s; wethers, 9s each; fat sheep, principally ewes, from 9s to 12s each. Averages: 53 steers, from Fen Court, £11 10s; 1 head, A. Stenrart, £10; 10 steers, Waters, £9 10; 8 head, A. Glass, £9 11s Gd; 16 steers, Westney, £8 10s each. MESSES HUNTER AND NOLAN S WEEKLY REPORT. Horses.—We quote: Hacks, from £9 to £18 10s; light harness horses, from £26 to £23; medium draught, £27 to £30; heavy colts, from £27 10s to £33. Cattle :—There has been a large supply of all descriptions. Prices for store stock have hardened. Dairy stock and fat beasts have remained unaltered m value. At Newmar'xet Yards on Tuesday, there was a good number of cattle yarded; buyers were m attendance, and bidding was spixited. At Papa ura on Wednesday, there was a very large muster; bidding was spirited, and prices ruled a shade m advance of Newmarket rates. We quote : Beef, 28s to 32s per lOOlbs; dairy cowa, from £8 to £10 10s; calves, from 29s to £2 7s 6d; yearlings, £3 5s to £i; two and three-year-old steers, from £4 to £6 10sSheep :—There have been a good many brought forward, and prices have altered but little. Stores maintained their value; also, fat wethers, but fat ewes receded a little. Lambs wore m ample supply, and sold from Is 8d to 2s per 81bs.
