At the Haymarket on Friday, March 21, meadow hay brought from 3a 6d to 5s the cwt; Tartarian oats, 3s 6d; wheat, 4a 3d; maize, 4s 4d to 4s 6d the bushel Heavy draught horses, £55 and £64 respectively. Medium - draught and light-harness, from £l6 to £23 10s. Ponies, from £4 10s and upwards. At Remuera on Thursday, dairy cattle wore in short supply, and maintained previous values, bringing from £8 to £Vi each. Store cattle, in moderate number and free enquiry," at an advance of from 5s to 10s per head. Fat cattle, in full numbers; 130 head yarded; last week's values were sustained, prices varying from 27s 6d to 3*2s 6d the lOOlbs. Store sheep, plentiful. Aged stock, at nominal values, but young Gtock in fair enquiry at from 8s to 13s each. Fat sheep, in full supply, and at late values; ewos, 2d; wethers, to 3d per lb. Store pigs, dull of sale.

Horses:—Hacki sold at from £l3 to £25; light-harness horses, from £l4 10s to £22; draught colts, from £2B to £35. Cattle : —Dairy cows continue in brisk demand. For some pens of coarse-bred young stores at NewmarUet on Tuesday, bidding was languid, but well-bred cattle in fresh condition were well competed for. There was a largo market of fat beasts, and a spirited demand throughout the sale at from 30s to 32s 6d per lOOlbs. There was no noteworthy alteration in stores. Dairy cows sold at from £8 15s to £l3 10s. Sheep:—The butcher's pens at Newmarket were well filled, but there was a large preponderance of ewes, consequently competition was not so keen as would have otherwise been the case, but prices did not recede at per lb as compared with last week, averaging Is 8d per Blbs. Lambs were in excessive supply, but there was no perceptible decline in value.
