TUESDAY, MARCH 18, 1879. VALUABLE ESTATE IN THK NORTH ISLAND OF NEW ZEALAND WAITANGI ESTATE. 9385 ACRES THE UNDERSIGNED is instructed by Mr J. and W. Busby, who are disolving partnership, to offer for sale by public auction, at the Haymarkf t, Queen Street, Auckland, on Tuesday, March 18, at noon, if not previously sold. Their Property at the Bay of Islands, known as Waitangi, containing 9,385 acres (more or less), and under grant from the Crown. The Estate is situated on the west end shore of tbe Bay of Islands, and is bounbed and fenced by the sea, and the River' Waitangi, for a distance of 15 miles ; It contains a considerable extent of volcanic and scoria land of good quality, with about 200 acres of rich alluvial fiats on the Waitangi, well adapted fot growing lucerne ; the remainder consists of clay ridges, with warm well-sheltered valleys. The Homestead consisting of a comfortable Cottage of 22 rooms, with Out- offices, is situated on the shojre of tbe Bay, in a position of unequalled beauty and salubrity • a J joining it there is about 6 acres of shubbery and Orchard, tbe latter full of choice Fruit-treeß, coming into full bearing, together with Kitchen Garden there is also Men's Cottage, and a large building used as a Hay-barn and Woolehed. Busby's farm, at Ohaewai, consisting of first-class volcanic land, which has always been worked with Waitangi, with about a thousand longwool and half-bred sheep. The Bay of Islands is gradually forcing itself into notice as a desirable place to settle in, Its unrivalled climate is a great attraction to invalids. There are now, on an average, ten steamers monthl/ between the Bay and Auok.and, and two between it and Sydney, and the completion to deep water of the railway from the Kawakawa Coal Mines, about to be undertaken, will bring a large addition to the number of shipping visiting the port, with the extension of the same line to Hokianga, which cannot be long postponed, will make it the depot for the trade of the finest districts North of Auckland.
