WAIPA ROAD, TOKEHOUHOU.

The following account of the Maori feast at the opening of the Raglan and Waipa road has been furnished us by a nativo correspondent : — " The Maori feast all gone yesterday. About 200 persons m all present — pakehas and Maoris, men and women, besides children. The native overseers made a shed with a bi<? sheei.. Then, all the pakehas so m the shed, and have their f^ast. When finished, the Maori chiefs all come m the shed. Mr Hill make a few talk — that he have much pleasure for the present Government, because for four Governments before this one the road was never made. Mr Hill wish to have another great meeting or feast on this road again next time, and call for Grey and Sheehan to come. At this saying, all the Maoris make the hipi hi pi. Here, Mr Bush translated to the Maoris, Rev. Schnackenberg, Mr Wallis, and Mr Palmer. At present, the Maoris lay the food, &c, m a heap. One man stand and say to a loud voice, ' Nga Ida te hira Ui a ti Waoihi," and all the pakehas give back again to the Maoris. About 3 p.m., all the pakehas go home, very glad for no Maoris make noise nor fisyht.
