WHATAWHATA.
February 20. Last Sunday, we had our usual monthly visit from the Bey. W. Calder. The service was well atteuded, and at the conclusion the rev. gentleman gave notice that, on the 24th inst., he purposed meeting the residents of the district m the schoolroom at 6.30 p.m., to arrange about the churoh aervioes for the present year. Mr Colder, also, stated that if two or three districts were warm m their support, mentioning Whatawhata as ene of them, we might have an additional clergyman m this part of Waikato ; this would mean for \is a fortnightly, instead of a monthly service. Nothing would suit us better than to have more frequent visits from Mr Calder, but thia he explained was at present out of his power. However, it is to be hoped that, at the meeting referred to, the residents will roll up m force, for, now that we have everything so satisfactory m connection with the school, surely we may come forward with substantial support for that which is quite as necessary — regular and frequent church services. — Correspondent.
