current year, was held on January 27, as advertised. Mr Brernuer, ou being called to the chair, said the first business Avould be to hear tho report of the out-going Committee for the past year. A short statement was submitted to the meeting, after which Alexander Bremner, Charles McDonald, Samuel Tieklepanny, William Gubbins Harp, James Inues, Herbert 11. Cholmondely, and T. Meredith were elecbed a School Committee. At a meeting of the Committee, held subsequently, Mr Bremuer was appointed Chairman, and Mr McDonald — Secretary and Treasurer. It was decided that all cheques be signed by the Treasurer and counter-signed, by the Chairman. The contractors for tho Piako bridge have been delayed for some time on ac-ount of the arrangements with the blacksmith being* m a very unsatisfactory state. It is to be hoped that something will be done to enable the general public to have the services of a blacksmith independent of any man. — Communicated.
