THE' HAMILTON SCiB CASE. Yrstbkday AfXBU^ooN a deputation, consisting of Masßrs Hicks, F.mtham, 2. B. Wai <er, Jolly, and Major Wilson, waited on the Native Minister Mr Hicks drew Mr Sheebbn's attention to the Hamilton so tb case, and pointed out the injustice fco Mr Jolly and the district which bad resulted from no commission, as promised, having been appointed by the Government to enquire into the fairness of the Magistrates' decision m this case, Mr flicks oomp ained of the manner m which the deoifciou had be«n coma to by the Auckland Bench upon evidence which was incomplete to found a conviction Ib wan well known m Waikato that Mr Jolly's sheep were never scabby, had never b <en treated for scab, and were quite clean at the present mnnenfc. It was impossible they could have been otherwise without its being generally known.
