Hamilton and Whatawhata Road. — Tenders for work and cuttings on the above -road, will be received by the Chairman of the Newcastle District Board, until Thui'sday, the 23rd inst. Alterations and Additions are about to be made to the Waikato County Couucil Chambers, at Hamilton, and tenders for performing the same, and for removing the present chambers to another site, will bu received by Mr T. His father was m the smoking carriage, and the boy with others ■ m another ' compartment, when just as the train reached Te Rapa the boy's hat blew off, and, without hesitation — the train going at full speed, — the. lad... jumped . after,, it. A cry. was raided m "th'o train' that somebody had fallen out, and the' engine was stopped. The lad was then seen, none the .worse for his escapade, racing along the line after the train. He was taken m again, quite uninjured, but somewhat frightened.
