CAMBRIDGE FARMERS' CLUB.

[Conejuaion of Report.] • - WSKABK-. IN; PEACH TEEEH. Mr James Ruuoiman said, he waß not quite prepared to bring forward his motion with regard to the disease m peach trees. He had written to all parts of this Island, from Hokianga to Wellington, and had aa yet reqeived only a few replies. He might say the disease was not local. It was very bad at Whangarei, but was not known at Tauranga. He would ask some gentleman to move the postponement of the question till next meeting, when he would be m a better position to give, them all ; the information he could. Mr Clark moved that the motion of Mr Runciman, regarding the disease m peach trees, be postponed till next meeting. Mr John Runciman seconded.— Carried. HORTICULTUEAL SHOW. Major Hay brought forward his motion, " That the Club take steps to hold a Horticultural Show m the month of March." Although he did not profe3s to be much of a horticulturist himself, he had no doubt that, if the matter was taken up by the Club, it would be a success. He had consulted one, well up m horticultural "matters, who had given his opinion that the first or aecond "week m March would be a time at which a show of the kind could be held most successfully. There would be flowers, fruit and vegetables to exhibit, and whatever else the Committoe might think fit to allow. Mr Clark seconded. He thought that something should be done m the matter, as it would be well patronised by the ladies, who had visited their shows m n umbers. Mr. James Runciraan said he supposed it would include cereals, and grass-seeds. Mr John Runcimau said, he would liko to know where the f unds would come from or whether the Club would have to pay for it ? Mr Brooks said, the show, he thought, would be self-supporting. Mr J. P. Ca.tnpbell said, if a shilling was charged for admission, he thought that would cover the expense. Mr Fantham said he highly approved of a Horticultural Show, and thought the Olub should do their best to carry it out successfully. ■-.■■. L - . Major Hay's motion Wcis then put, and carried unanimously. Major Hay then proposed the following gentlemen as a committee to make all necessary arrangements, and carry them out: Messra Fantbam, J. P. Campbell, Henry Reynolds, Sharp, Major "Wilson, and the mover.— Mr James Runcimau seconded the proposition, which was carried. THE JOLLY SCAD CASE. Mr Hicks asked if the Club had received any reply from the Government to the petition m reference to the Jolly Scab Case. It waa stated that no reply had been received. ! Mr Hicks wished to bring forward a resolution on the subject, to be forwarded to the Government. There was some desultory discussion on this suggestion, and, as niauy of the members had left, Mr Hicks was asked to {jive notice of motion for next time of meeting. • Mr Hicks said something ought to be do ne at once. The Government were not treating them properly m ignoring them m this w a 7-. Mr John Hunt then moved, " That tho Government be communicated with m reference to the Jolly- Scab Case, and, m the event of no satisfactory reply b^noreceived, that the Committee appointed to examine Mr Jolly's sheep be asked to confer with the Hon. the Defence Minister (Mr Sheehan), on his visit to Waikato, on the subject.''— Mr Clark seconded the motion, which was carried ve m con. This was .all the business.
