Mr SiiEfcUAN and Rewi.— The late3t intelligence from New Plymouth states that the chiefs from Waikato are much pleased at the friendliness existing Rewi and Mr Sheehan, and the understanding concluded is of the highest importance to the colony. Rewi is very anxious not to do anything likely to jrive offence to the King or his people, and he has asked Mr Sheehan to meet him again ,m Waikato early m December, and ao« company him through the Maniapoto country to Mokau, instead of going from Mokau to Waikato, as at first proposed. The name of the steamer m which Rewi has an interest will be changed from Hannah Mokau to Mokau only, at Rewi's request. Kowi, to-day, said he did not wish any person to come between himself and the Native Minister, that they had both marked out a road, and it now behoved both races to follow it.
